Obituary for Ethel Elizabeth Goddard (Blackmore)

Peacefully with family at her side, at Hanover Care Centre, Hanover, Ontario, Ethel Elizabeth Goddard (nee Blackmore) of Lake Rosalind, Hanover, went to be with her Lord on July 30, 2019 at the age of 84.

Beloved wife of the late Donald Goddard (2017) for 60 years. Cherished Mother of Kim Wood and her husband Michael (Max) of Aylmer, John Goddard and his wife Debbie of Lake Rosalind, and Brenda Roehler of Windsor. Dear Grandmother of Shawn Lusted and Crystal, Mathew Lusted and Sarah, Jared Goddard, Kathryn Fazio and Chris, Laura Krawchuk and husband Mark, Jonathan Roehler and Josephine Roehler, and Great Grandmother of eleven.

Ethel graduated from Grace Hospital, Toronto, as a Registered Nurse in 1955, and worked for many years in various positions as a compassionate and caring professional helping others. She was an avid bowler and was recognized as such when she was inducted into the K - W Bowling Hall of Fame in the 1985 – 1986 season.

Family will receive friends at the New Apostolic Church, 517 12th Street, Hanover from 12 noon until 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 3, 2019 where the funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m.. Cremation to follow. A private family interment will take place at a later date.

The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to all the staff at Hanover Care Centre. A special thank you to her good friends Ruby and Gerald Downey for their loving friendship and support, and a special thank you to Donna, her friend and room mate.

Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Alzheimer Society of Canada would be greatly appreciated.
