I wish to add my condolences regarding the passing of Dave . As his vice-principal at Sacred Heart High School there were times we did not see eye to eye yet I believed Dave to be committed and dedicated person to the causes he felt passionate about. I'm thankful that I was able to tell Dave that I was impressed with his commitment to what he felt were just causes. I was so proud of Dave when I saw his picture in the Toronto Star attempting to fight the injustices meted out at the G8 conference held in Toronto. To Joe and the family and friends of Dave I send you my deepest regrets regarding losing such a wonderful person.

I give you my sympathy at this most difficult time. I recall Dave when he worked at the Formosa Brewery. He was always helpful and happy. God has another angel. May Dave rest in peace! Earl Spitzig

I'm sending my heartfelt sympathies to all of Dave's family and friends in this difficult time. I met Dave at York University where we both did a master's in Environmental Studies. We played guitar and sang together, and then both became a part of the environmental and social justice community in Toronto. I will miss his warmness, his brilliance, his stubbornness, his creativity and his kind heart. Lots of love and healing to you all.
