Obituary for Francis Jerome Phillippi

Francis Jerome Phillippi of Chepstow passed away on Sunday, April 16th, 2023, at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre, Chesley, the morning after his 85th birthday. Francis was a life-long Bruce County resident. He was a mason by trade and in his spare time he enjoyed playing his fiddle. Francis spent many hours in his garden and was known for the begonias that lined his flowerbeds every summer.

Francis is survived by his sister Florence (Bill) Zettler of Portage la Prairie, MB, and  sister-in-law Jeanne Phillippi of Walkerton. Francis will be fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews Helen Phillippi of Cabri, SK, Ann (Gary) Gooch of Raleigh, N.C., Rita (Bill) Spitzig of Waterloo, Maurice (Michelle) Phillippi, of Cargill, Bill (Denise) Phillippi of Cargill, Marian Green of Windsor, Rosemary MacGregor of Barrie, Laureen (Chris) Arnold of St. Jacobs, Leonard (Bobbi Lynn) Phillippi of Cargill, Mary (Flynn) McGunigal of Winnipeg, MB, Marjorie (Joel) Lim of Arlington, Virginia, Michael Zettler of LaSalle, MB, Marcel (Nanette) Zettler of Winnipeg, MB, Nancy (Brent) Metcalfe of Oak Bluff, MB, Vincent (Sharon) Zettler of Portage la Prairie, MB, Peter (Rebecca) Zettler of Treherne, MB, Katie (Tom) Kemmerer of Clive, Iowa, and Daniel (Leanne) Zettler of Neepawa, MB.

Francis predeceased by his parents Louis and Mary (nee Fischer) Phillippi, and his brothers Clare and Wilbert.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 21, 2023, at Mary Immaculate Church, Chepstow. Reception to follow at the Chepstow Lion Park.

Interment in Mary Immaculate Cemetery, Chepstow.
