Obituary for Jim Bolden

James “Jim” William Bolden of Walkerton passed away Sunday, May 8, 2022, at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre, Walkerton, in his 83th year.

Beloved husband to Patricia (nee Schmidt) for over 58 years. Father of Shawn (Nancy) of Walkerton, Dennis (Shazila) of Woodbridge, Scott (Tammy) of Walkerton, and Jeremy (Shannon) of Owen Sound. He will be deeply missed and forever loved as “Grandpa” of 10 and great grandpa of 6. Jim will be fondly remembered by his brother Patrick (Janice) of Woodstock and sister-in-law Beverley of Waterloo.

Jim was predeceased by his brother Robert and parents William and Alice Bolden.

Jim had a deep soul that cared about faith, family, and community. He served on Council for 23 years, being Mayor for 13 and Reeve for 4 years during that time, and contributed to the Health Committee, Bruce County Housing, and the Plowing Match. He belonged to many service clubs such as the Horticulture Society and Communities in Bloom.

He especially loved family and sharing in the love that family gave him, spending his home time with his children and grandchildren, and making special memories along the way.

“On angels wings he has left us, but his memory will last a lifetime.”

Mass of Christian Burial for Jim will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at Sacred Heart Church, Walkerton. Fr. Leszek Szczygiel officatiing.

Interment in Calvary Cemetery, Walkerton.
