Obituary for James "Jim" Costie
James “Jim” Warren Costie, of Walkerton passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 18, 2020 at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre, Durham at the age of 78.
Beloved husband of Joanne (nee Bennett). Loving father of Stephen (Elsa) of Lunenburg, NS and Michelle (Peter) Rich of Kincardine. Cherished grandfather of Nicholas (Nathalia) Costie, Sean (Julie) Costie, Nathalie Costie, Austin and Brady Rich and great-grandfather of Leila, Amaya, Chloe and Luke. Dear brother of Don (Kay) Costie of Walkerton and Margaret Green of Bayfield and brother-in-law of Ron Payne of Stoney Creek and Rosemary Cooper of Hamilton. He will be remembered by his many nieces and nephews.
Jim was predeceased by his sisters Evelyn (Albert) Johnson, Elsie (Bob) Tindale and Rosalind Payne; brother-in-law Ed Green; parents-in-law John and Margaret Bennett and parents Hugh and Dorothy (nee Maine) Costie.
Jim was born in Hamilton on March 20, 1942. In 1970 he and his wife Joanne moved to Walkerton, where they were proud owners of the Dunkeld Hotel for 49 years. His infectious smile, big heart and sense of humour will be deeply missed by all his family and friends.
A private family service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 22, 2020 at Cameron Funeral Home, Walkerton. Fr. Leszek Szczygiel officiating. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Interment in Calvary Cemetery, Walkerton.
