Obituary for Muriel Sykes
Muriel Winnifred Sykes of Walkerton passed away peacefully in her 102nd year on Sunday, May 15, 2022, at Brucelea Haven, Walkerton.
Beloved mother of Julia Reuber of Hanover, Lloyd (Margaret) Oakey of Clifford, Linda (Len) Head of Corunna, stepmother of Ruth (Ivan) Lee, Nelson Sykes, both of Hamilton and Wayne (Louise) Sykes of Irma, Alberta,. Muriel will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren: Brent (Bobbi-Jo), Brad (Krista), Sarah (Michael), Jonathan (Miranda), Rachel (Mark), Kathleen, Laura (Simon), Ben, Levi (Katrina), Fraser (Alisha), and Brittany. Muriel was also great grandma of 19 and great-great-grandma of 1. Muriel also has 8 step-grandchildren, and 13 great step-grandchildren.
Predeceased by her husband Edward Oakey, her husband Arthur Sykes, son-in-law Bill Reuber, stepdaughter Linda (Tom) Flack, stepdaughter-in-law Joan Sykes, siblings Mary (Albert) Bull and George (Joan) Harper, and her parents Roland and Mary (nee Ridley) Harper.
Friend and relatives are invited for visitation on Thursday, May 19, 2022, at Walkerton Pentecostal Church from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. prior to a service at 11:00 a.m.

Interment in St. Paul’s United Church Cemetery, Mildmay.
