Obituary for Robert Thompson

Robert Lloyd Thompson of Paisley passed away on Thursday, October 20, 2022, at the Hanover Care Centre, which he called home for 15 years.

Robert was known for his love of life, mischief and great smile, and once you met him, you did not forget him. He started Thompson Brother Furniture in Paisley with brother Don and later he had a furniture store in Hensall. He also worked as an operator at Bruce Power, Sold Snap on Tools, ran "East side Marios" in Hanover, sold and made ceramics. Robert loved his community and was Reeve of Paisley and put his name in for try at MPP. Robert loved to read and try new things and in his spare time, he loved to ski and travel across Canada and visited Europe and Australia.

He will be missed by his siblings Bonnie (Bruce) Cartwright of Southampton, Donald of Paisley, Bruce (Jan) of Severn, and remembered by his nieces Michelle, Laurie, Ashley, Kristen, nephews Mark, Ryan, Darryl, and ten great nieces and nephews, Owen, Mia, Dylan, Keenan, Caleb, Bella, Tily, Alex, Hadley, and William. Robert will also be remembered by his aunts and uncles: Dorothy Calford of Orillia, Anne Gibson, Violet (Bob) Swannell, Barb (Bob) Ferguson, Lawrence (Shirley) Nicholson, all of Owen Sound, Shirley (Robert) Bourgeois of Walkerton, Shirley Thompson of Glammis, and Eleanor Thompson of Kincardine.

Robert was predeceased by his parents Vina and Stewart Thompson and many loving aunts and uncles.

A private family service will be held with interment at Purdy Cemetery, Cargill.
