Rudi Walter Feichtinger, son of Ignaz “Bill” and Anna Feichtinger of Hanover, passed away on Saturday, April 23, 2022, at the age of 60.
Rudi was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba to immigrant parents from Austria and moved to Hanover when he was 12. He was known to be both gregarious and people loving, as well as introspective and quiet. Rudi enjoyed listening to music and had an eye for capturing landscapes and people through photography. His greatest passion was hiking the trails in Grey and Bruce counties. He received his bachelor’s degree in 1995 and worked in sales for many years. Rudi empowered others through words of encouragement and he had a deep and abiding Christian faith.
He was very much loved by his four children, Benjamin (Ashley) of Owen Sound, William (Claire) of Toronto, Joseph Wagner, and Abigail Wagner of Holland Centre. Rudi got to hold his first grandchild, Marsden Feichtinger just a few months ago. He is survived by his sisters Helga Feichtinger (Rob) of Duncan, BC, Monika Sautner (Heinz) of Austria and brother Joseph W Feichtinger (Patricia) of Winnipeg and many nieces and nephews in Ontario and Austria.
In keeping with Rudi’s love of the outdoors, a graveside service will be held at the Hanover Cemetery on Thursday, May 5, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. Rev. Paul Neuman officiating.
A livestream of the graveside service will be available through "Watch Webcast" below.
A reception to celebrate Rudi’s life will follow at Ground Effects Landscaping, Hanover (341411 Concession Road 2 NDR) from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. with some words shared by family and friends.
