Obituary for Valerie Ann Kerr

Valerie Ann Kerr of Walkerton, a beloved sister, aunt, and friend; passed away suddenly on Monday, March 7, 2022. She was 63.

Valerie will be dearly missed by her brothers Wayne of Bervie, and Jack (Gladys) of Waterloo, sisters Marlene Kerrigan of Kitchener, Donna (Ray) Whitehead of Walkerton, Dianne (James) Whitehead of Chepstow, and Yvonne (Lorne) Strauss of Chepstow. She will be fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews, whom she cherished and adored each and every one. Eternally young at heart, Val loved making memories with them.

Val was a valued employee of Energizer for over 40 years where she made countless friends and never missed an opportunity to bring the holiday spirit to work. Her greatest joy in life was singing and dancing; from choir to line dancing, if there was music, Val was there. She was very involved with local theatres including Walkerton County Towne Players, Singer Christmas Tree, and Grey-Bruce Singers. Val was at her happiest when she was dressed up and performing.

Val has left us to join her parents, and best friends, Margaret and John Kerr, siblings Carol, Doug, Lenore, and Terry, sister-in-law Lorraine and brother-in-law John Kerrigan.

Val’s infectious smile will live on in our memories. She was a bright light to all who knew her and will be dearly missed.

Friends and relatives are invited for visitation from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, March 11, 2022, at Cameron’s in Walkerton.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 12, 2022, at Sacred Heart Church, Walkerton. Fr. Leszek Szczygiel officiating.
