William “Bill” Jacob Hope of Walkerton, born Jaap deHoop of Friesland, Netherlands, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at home on Tuesday, October 19, 2021, in his 94th year. Beloved husband of Ada and father to Gerry (Mary-Jane) of Walkerton, Tena (Rob) Hoffele of Mildmay, Brenda (Dan) Meyer of Walkerton, and Pauline Horton of Wingham. Bill was the proud grandpa of Amy (Derek), Jason, Nigel (Deanna), Amber (Gary), James (Elyse), Lisa (Coel), Cole, Anjie (Matt), Cory (Angelica), Bill (Lisa), Ashley (Mat), Corrinna, Joe (Megan), Dustin, and Brittany (Jake), and great grandpa of 20.
He will be missed by his brother Lloyd (Suzanne) of Hanover, sisters Heike, Elly, and Albertine of the Netherlands, the Borth family, and many nieces and nephews.
Bill is predeceased by his son Brian, daughter Joanne Ruller, son-in-law Brad Horton, siblings Annie, John, Lykele, and parents Cornelius and Gea deHoop.

A private family service celebrating Bill’s life will be held on Saturday, October 23, 2021, with interment at Walkerton Cemetery to take place at a later date.
