Obituary

Obituary for Winnie Hewitson

Winnifred Marietta Hewitson (nee Christmann), passed away at Brucelea Haven, Walkerton on Tuesday December 15th, 2020 in her 98th year. Winnie was born in Saskatchewan on March 15th, 1923.

Aunt Winnie will be fondly remembered by her nieces and nephews and their extended families in Ontario, British Columbia, Alberta, South Carolina and Dubai, India.

Winnie was predeceased by her beloved husband Doug (1997); sisters and brothers Muriel Scaddan, Mel Christmann, Audrey Ament, Percy Christmann and Alma Stoddart, and sister-in-law to Allan Hewitson, Helen Ayres, and Ruth Thompson.

The family would like to thank the staff at Brucelea Haven for their care and compassion during Winnie’s time there.

A private service will be held followed by interment in Walkerton Cemetery..

As expressions of sympathy, donations to War Amps Champs or the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 102, Walkerton would be appreciated by the family. Cards available at Cameron's (519-881-1273). Donations and condolences may also be made online at www.cameronfuneralhomes.com

Your Mom was so kind to me when I was a newcomer 7o Walkerton and joined the Ladies Auxiliary. I never forget that! Also knew your Dad as one of the court constables...a nice man. So sorry for your loss. Rose Yuke.
